The Department of Emergency Medicine was established as a result of the transformation of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the WNMZ by the decision of the JM Rector of SUM dated 20.07.2023. Originally, the Department was located in the SP SK of Prof. Mielęcki in Katowice, but as of the academic year 2024/2025 it was transferred to the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze.
